THE COLORS OF LOVE by Barbara Lewis
We begin
Our eyes may be full of love
We may marvel at the color and the majesty
The mystical – and the magical
Like tender blossoms, our hearts will lean toward the light.
Toward love.
We will breathe in the beauty.
All is wonder.
Wonder-filled.
We may join with another.
We may soar.
We may laugh and sing
This deep glow of love will fill our loneliest places inside.
We have found the prize.
It is ripe and bounteous
The colors of love are ravishing
Never ending. Never ending.
But one day, we may lose the feeling
Love may seem to grow stark and cold
Now is the time to remember
Love is in the color
In the wonder.
Inside. Never lost. Simply always there.
We may weep and tears will flow in streams
We may bow our heads like forgotten flowers
The beauty of our skin will change
The sight within our eyes grows dim
The dreams of our youth will rise like roses to the sun and fade away
But still our love will grow
Let your love grow
