Vision

Alien

One evening, I wandered out where the sky was clear.
I saw a stranger, he was drawing near.

He came to me.

His head was bald. Eyes were brighter than the winter skies.
They spoke a language that moistened my eyes.
"Cast your vision, cast it far

See the future in the stars."

We walked along. His gait was steady, his words were strong.
We stopped in shadows, he faced the sky, he asked of me:
"Join me in my nearby home.

Let me show you all I own."

He touched my head. My eyes were burning, my body rose high.
I woke to find there were crystals in my eyes, my sight was new!
I closed my eyes. I saw the ocean, I felt the breeze.

I saw a ship riding high on the seas. It called to me:

"Cast your vision, cast it wide,
See the answers in the sky."
The air was cold. I stood alone in the night.

My dream was heavy, my waking was light.

I raised my eyes. I saw a ship move into shore
I heard a voice call me to board:

"Cast your vision, cast it high."

I travel far. Carry my vision like a light.
Seeking the answers in the night.
Years go by.
