In September of 2001, my husband and I were living in New York City. On September 11th, we both were downtown at 9 in the morning. Close to the Trade Tower event.
We were lucky. We walked out of the smoke to our home uptown. And then, when we were allowed to leave, we drove out of NY (for good) – on the 17th. I wrote this song some time later. I thought I would post it here today on September 17, 2013, as a remembrance of that dramatic day many years ago, when we left the city I loved…
